PHILIPPINE DELEGATION ALL SET FOR ASIA PACIFIC CONFERENCE 2001

Cebu City - The Philippine delegation is finally all set to the ASPAC 2001 in Taegu, Korea. JC Arthur Kenneth L. Sy, the National Chairman of On-To Korea, has eventually identified and coordinated the schedule for the Filipino delegates.

This year's ASPAC will celebrate "PEACE THROUGH HARMONY" as its theme. MORE

A DIFFERENT KIND OF BIRTHDAY CAKE DURING PRESIDENT'S DAY

Cagayan de Oro City - In an unprecedented move and inspired by a suggestion, BLJC President JCI Sen. Gilda "Gigi" Go celebrated her birthday last April 23 officially as President's Day.

More than holding a soiree among Jaycee chapter members and kin and friends, President Gigi gathered the streeet children of Cagayan de Oro City and treated them to an early dinner that Monday night.

The rationale behind the activity is to celebrate the birth anniversaries of incumbent BLJC presidents among a personally-chosen beneficiary. This is to enable the group to reach out to more sectors of the society and at the same time, the president can share her blessings to the less-privileged during her natal day. The Bai Lawanens plan to make the President's Day an annual event.

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY CELEBRATES JAYCEE WEEK 2001

Cagayan de Oro City - As an annual event, the Junior Chamber of the Philippines and all its member chapters celebrate Jaycee Week during the month of April. This year, the week started on Easter Sunday, 15 April 2001 and culminated on the Sunday next, 22 April 2001.

Jaycee Week is almost always a joint activity among the four Junior Chamber of Cagayan de Oro City. True to tradition, the chapter Presidents this year pooled their individual chapter's strengths and resources and calendared a hectic, activity-filled and fun Jaycee Week 2001. Heading the quartet is JC Johnny Lu, President of the Junior Chamber of Cagayan de Oro, Inc. Joining him are the lady Presidents of Macajalar "24K" Jaycees, Inc., JC Gene Hans "Honey" Sabal; Kagayhaan "Gold" Jaycees, Inc., JC Magi Caroline Ann "Magi" T. Mendoza; and Bai Lawanen Jaycees, Inc., JCI Sen. Gilda "Gigi" Go.

Each of the four chapters conducted special projects on their own during the week. The Bai Lawanen Jaycees celebrated Easter Sunday in a feeding program for the children of Agusan, Misamis Oriental. But most of the time during the week, the four chapters were one in various projects and activities. Among the highlights of the Jaycee Week were the joint Easter Sunday Mass at the campus chapel of Xavier University, the Motorcade along the main streets of the city, the seminar on "How To Choose Your Candidates", the joint General Membership Meeting for the month at Grand Caprice Restaurant, and the "Beat the Heat" finale which is a whole-day fun party at the Marvilla Beach Resort in Opol, Misamis Oriental.
