MeET the OFFICERS

Fore Runners of Positive Change

"The ultimate lesson all of us have to learn is unconditional love,
which includes not only others but ourselves as well."

- Elisabeth Kubler-Ross, Swiss-born psychiatrist and writer

    President GILDA ONG OH GO

President Gigi has been a Jaycee for the past 14 years, making her a witness of what the Jaycees was then and now. Who would be more fitting to lead the no-nonsense and competitive pack of Bai Lawanen Jaycees than the sole person who has acquired more than enough knowledge on the true essence of being a Jaycee? She certainly has the IT to make it as president. The chapter is definitely on its way to claim success with President Gigi at the helm!

Executive Vice President EMMA BULARON TAN

Six years in the Jaycee movement has given EVP Emma her varied experiences, moulding her into a better person. Whenever you give her a task, she will definitely give her all to succeed. With her husband Herman and her three children by her side, success is not far away. She is currently connected with CAP Philippines. Indeed a treasure worth looking into, EVP Emma has the makings of a LOM President in the not so distant future!

Vice President for Management GERALDINE SABANAL NOTA

VPM Jayree joined the Jaycees in 1996 but she was not able to catch the Jaycee fever right away since she had to fulfill her duties as wife to Engr. Roger Nota and as mom to Mikhaela Adrienne. It was only in 1999 that she became active in the movement - involving herself in various Jaycee projects and activities. As a result, she became the LOM Secretary under the term of IPP Priscilla B. Curilan. Her former position as secretary certainly gave VPM Jayree enough background and experience to handle the Management Area of Opportunity.

Vice President for Community JAYLYN MANGUERA LINGAT

You can see in VPC Jaylyn the desire to serve and the concern about people. Her position as Vice President for Community fits her to a T since she is one person who has the commitment, dedication and willingness to serve humanity. Aside from the Jaycees, Jaylyn is busy managing Jayneth's Collection, a garments, bags, curtains, and quilted items manufacturing company. She also helps out in their family franchise, Bench.

Vice President for International JUDELYN MAE BIOL CHABON

This bedimpled young lady is from Batch 1997. VPI Judy is one person who would be willing enough to do JC work 'til morning light - a practice which she has gotten used to when she was a student of Industrial Engineering at the Mapua Institute of Technology. But all work and no play makes VPI Judy a dull girl; so she balances her schedule with a doze of rest and fun. Mingling with other people is never a problem to her. These are traits that made her fit for Vice President for International.

Secretary CARMEL MARIE QUISUMBING KITANE

Secretary Mel-mel is one person who embodies the Jaycee ideal. She is selfless, dedicated and earnest in immersing herself in the Jaycee movement. She is unfailing in and out of the leadership organization as an outstanding officer and member of the chapter. Secretary Mel-mel is the best in whatever she does, from the menial to the major tasks. Surely the person to watch out for in the Jaycees! No wonder then that President Gigi sought her out to be her Secretary.

Treasurer MARGARET AUYONG VELASQUEZ

Treasurer Margie is one of the more active Jaycees of batch 1999. Aside from her desire to fulfill the six tenets of the Jaycee Creed, her inspiration is then her boyfriend and now her husband Oro Jaycee Francis Velasquez. In fact, Francis was one of those who encouraged her to join the Jaycees. Her position as Treasurer challenges her since projects will depend on the availability of funds. Her background and training in handling her own business, De Oro Pelican Express, is surely an advantage to her position.

Auditor/Press Relations Officer MARIAN YAP SIA

Auditor/PRO An-an is one of those silent but interesting and witty persons. She may not be very visible especially in local activities but she has made a mark in Bai Lawanen Jaycees by making Kubing, the chapter's newsletter, available for its members and friends and by making Bai Lawanen available to the world through the chapter web page. Apart from being busy with the Jaycees, Auditor/PRO An-an is also an active member of the Rotary Club of Kalayaan and the Executive Manager of their family-owned business, Cagayan On-Line, an internet service provider.

Leadership Development Commissioner PRECIOUS LILIBETH ROSALES DELESTE

She is one of the chapter's young members. You can call her a product of the Jaycees with two very active JCI Senators as parents, JCI Sen. Rey and JCI Sen. Linda Deleste. Her being a Prime Graduate (1999) is a plus to her position as the chapter's Leadership Development Commissioner. A product of Ateneo de Manila and Ateneo de Cagayan University with a degree in Philosophy and Law respectively, she is currently reviewing for the Bar Exams. She is a faculty member of the Cagayan Capitol College.

International Affairs/Business Network Commissioner STARRA STEFFANI ROSS YAP UY

She is a newcomer in the Bai Lawanen Jaycees and she is properly introduced together with the new regular members. Commissioner Kerby's position as Director for International Affairs and Business Network for this year will surely be a good avenue for her to discover how great an organization the Jaycees is.

Community Development & Involvement Commissioner MIA ANGELA ALENTAJAN LACSON

She is a newcomer in the Bai Lawanen Jaycees and she is properly introduced together with the new regular members. Commissioner Mian is one person who fulfills her responsibilities with utmost commitment. She is the best choice for the position since she is committed, reliable and responsible.

Planning/Economic Affairs Commissioner IRENE TAN TIU

Commissioner Irene has gone to a World Congress in Kobe, Japan but she has not attended any National Convention yet! She is quite conversant in Nipongo, though she has Chinese roots. That is because she was a Rotary Exchange student to Japan some years ago. Her career as Marketing Officer of Equitable PCI Bank and the raising of her two children surely makes Irene one very busy woman. The chapter is just mighty glad that she still has time for the Jaycees.

Membership Commissioner MYE GARCIA PACUNIO

Commissioner Mye is last year's chairman of Cellular Fever, a fundraising project of the Bai Lawanen Jaycees. She has had a number of chairmanships under her name since she was inducted as Jaycee in 1998. A person who takes her responsibility seriously, she is one person who fits the shoe as Membership Commissioner since it entails dedication and commitment. Surely, Equitable Cardnetwork, Inc. is proud to have her in their employ.
