Those Who Dare to Bite the Dust!

"Luck is a matter of preparation meeting opportunity."
- Oprah Winfrey, American talk show host and acress

    ATILLO, JANNIE LOU RAGAY

Though often mistaken as no less than the Oro Jaycees President with their similar sounding names, Janjan is every inch a lady. She captures hearts with her captivating smile, sensitivity towards other people's feelings, unselfish caring and thoughtful dedication. She is one dedicated and committed Jaycee. She balances her time with her work at Traders Royal Bank, her pastoral and choir activities at the United Church of Christ of the Philippines, her familial duties at home and her duty as friend to many.

GO, KATE CASTAÑO

Kate was the Secretary of the Baby Jaycees Batch I. She kept everything in order and made sure each meeting and each activity were properly documented. In between Jaycee activities, Kate is busy managing her own catering business. She enjoys cooking and entertaining friends, which makes her an ideal host!

  GORDIEL, JOCELYN UY

Lyn-lyn is the party-maker of the Baby Jaycees Batch I. She was responsible in planning and implementing the fundraising activity of the batch - the comedy show "Don't Be Fooled!" at Rhythms Cafe and Restobar. If it weren't for the fundraising, the batch's community project would not have been successful. You will often see her at the family-owned Riverview Inn in Carmen, Cagayan de Oro City which she manages.

LABIAL, MERCELITA JANDAYAN

The livewire. That is how this young working mother wants to be best remembered. With a degree in Secondary Education, a bid for masters in Communication Arts, a teaching career in Xavier University, a doting husband and a healthy son all under her name, she adds the Bai Lawanen Jaycees into her collection of achievements. Mercy shall certainly reach for more with this chapter, as she began it by being the Chairperson for the community project of the Baby Jaycees Batch II.

  LACSON, MIA ANGELA ALENTAJAN

Mian is a real newcomer in the group - both in the Jaycees and in Cagayan de Oro City. From Manila, Mian has just moved to Cagayan de Oro due to her husband's assignment with Nestle CDO Factory. Once a part of the corporate world in Manila, Mian has adjusted remarkably well to the laid-back life in the city. She has an MBA degree from the University of Hawaii. She helps out in the marketing of the family-owned LyNa Beauty Products here in the city.

MEJORADA, SHIRLEY SEMETARA

Shirley is somebody who comes in softly, but she is one new Jaycee you can count on. She works at Xavier Estates as Credit and Collection Cashier. She looks upon her employment as a chance to gain expertise in her field of work and leadership ability. Her becoming a member of the Bai Lawanen Jaycees will certainly help her a lot in this second objective.

MENDOZA, HEIDI GRACE PULIDO

Looks can surely be deceiving. She may be small and fragile-looking but this Davaoeña is a tough one! She was an active Jaycee before she captivated the heart of Oro Jaycee Mike Mendoza during one of the Area Council Meetings in her Davaoeña "Daba-daba" Jaycee days. She plans to be active again with her joining the Bai Lawanen Jaycees. Check it out, you will see that Heidi is definitely one of the promising new Bai Lawanen Jaycees this year!

MILAR, GRACE TUYOR

With a degree in Education major in Biology and minor in Chemistry, Grace is taking up Masters in Management at Xavier University where she also teaches. Grace has gained a wider perspective in life when she joined the Jesuit Volunteer's Program [JVP]. She served as a parish worker in Camarines Sur and as a teacher in Davao Oriental. This is Grace: teacher, a woman for others, and now a Jaycee!

  RANARIO, JOCELYN GUMPAY

This very approachable person works as Executive Secretary at Oro Port. Her occupation certainly proved an advantage when she was the Assistant Secretary for the project of Baby Jaycees Batch II. Single and with all the time in her hands, Joy is also a member of the Kiwanis Club of Gold City and is the 2nd Vice President of the organization. Well, can anybody beat that - a promising Jaycee and an active Kiwanian all at the same time!

ROXAS, MONETTE CAPISTRANO

Monet was the Treasurer for the Baby Jaycee Batch II. Her personality can best be summarized as Smart Girl, Go Girl! During project meetings, she would usually keep everybody in stitches. More so, she is literally a Smart lady for she works as agent coordinator at Smart Communications. With her education in nursing and vocation in telecommunications, you'll never go wrong with Monet.

  SILMARO, MA. CECILIA SAJULGA

Cecille has the idea of graceful beauty down pat. Actually, she is the identified graceful dancer of the Baby Jaycee Batch II, choreographing the musical presentation of the group during the induction. Finishing a Bachelorship in Education with a major in Mathematics from Xavier University, she is now doing her turn of the teaching in the same institution. Aside from the Jaycees, her masteral studies keep her busy.

UY, CHRISTINE TAN

Chin-chin is one of the busiest Jaycees around. She is currently a 3rd year Law student at Xavier University. When not in class, she manages the family-owned grocery store, Chester Marketing in Carmen, Cagayan de Oro City. Chin-chin was the Vice Chairman of the Baby Jaycee Batch I. She did most of the coordination with DSWD and helped in making the project flow smoothly. Certainly, she is a person with a big smile, a big laugh and a big heart.

UY, STARRA STEFFANI ROSS YAP

Kerby was the Chairman of the Baby Jaycees Batch I. As Chairman, she made sure that their project was funded and was accomplished successfully. She balances her time between managing Byte This, an internet cafe which she owns together with her friends, and her activities and duties as a Jaycee. She is currently a member of the Bai Lawanen Board, appropriately so since she enjoys spending time in fellowship and interaction with officers and members of other Jaycee chapters.
